Located in the center of Dalmatia, Hvar is an island whose beauty attracted visitors since prehistoric times. Old Greeks founded a settlement here over 6 thousand years ago, in the fertile fields on the northern side of the island.

Magnificent scenery basking in the sun, surrounded by the blue sea is captivating not only because of its beauty but also because of the pleasant aromas of rosemary and lavender. Northern coast has many beautiful coves and bays, hidden corners of beauty, while along the southern shore of the island there is a string of pearls of nature known as Pakleni islands. Hvar is an island with rich cultural and historical heritage. Ruins of the Greek settlements, Venetian and Napoleonic forts bear witness to the islands turbulent history, while the spectacular villa of Petar Hektorović, one of the most famous Croatian poets presents a unique symbol of its cultural achievements. Hvar is an island that has many stories to tell to the wandering traveler and which always offers something new. Maybe that is part of the reason the for more than century and a half it is known as an elite tourist destination. 

Vrboska, a city and a harbor on the northern coast of the island of Hvar, is located in the picturesque, deep cove surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and pine forest. This is a village with long tradition in fishing so that it has its own Fishing museum. A unique monument is a monumental church – fortress, from whose roof there is a spectacular view to the open sea. All kinds of accommodations, hotels, camps, apartments, quality tourist offerings and many opportunities for sports and recreation are the main reason for repeated visits of its guests. During the tourist season several cultural and entertainment events are being held.
